Dog Kennels And Runs

Dog kennels and runs are an essential investment by any dog owner. They allow the dogs to safely frolic in the open, without being in the direct supervision of his master.

Playing outdoors is extremely important for your pet’s wholesome well-being and part of his nature. It also allows the dogs to expend some energy. A good outdoor kennel allows your precious pooch to make the most of the natural environment while he stays safe and you can also be at peace about his little outing. Indoor kennel and run is also a very good idea if you feel that you cannot have the dog by the leash, all the time he’s in or even let him roam free. He can have his own personal free space without being a bother.

The size of the run depends on the size of the dog, his length and height and the size of the area where you plan to put up the kennel and run. You can also get the runs as duplex or triplex if you have more than one dog.

Dog kennels and runs will also keep your garden and backyard in the best shape. Dogs love to dig and the exotic plants in your garden are in a great danger with a dog prancing about excitedly. It’ll also keep him away from plants which are poisonous or thorny like cactus etc. A kennel will keep your pet safe from getting into fights with the other dogs or from running into the neighbor’s yard much to your embarrassment. A dog which is out in the open can get exited any moment and may rush off into the street in a fleeting second, which can lead to accidents. A kennel helps to contain your precious pets in the safety of your backyard. This is also a very good way to contain your dog if he is extremely aggressive and has a tendency to attack or bite other animals or people. Also, these days all responsible owners neuter or spay their pets, but if you decide not to go for that option, then a kennel will keep the bitches protected specially during the time they are in heat. There are many cases of dogs being stolen; kennels which are kept properly locked will keep your dogs safe from such malicious people too.

Placement of the kennel is also a very crucial question. You can move around the portable ones anywhere but not the permanent ones, and this becomes all the more crucial for the kennels which do not have any flooring. Avoid placing them in areas which are low lying and the water can collect in them during the rainy season. You might come back home to see your dog sitting in a puddle of muddy water. Even if your dog kennel and run has a roof, try and place it in a relatively shady area in the summers, so that he stays protected from the harsh sun rays. However, do not place it too far into the trees for the fear of falling branches etc. Avoid placing it near shared property line; you neighbors might not be very happy with the idea.

Choose dog kennels and runs which are comfortable for your precious dog and make the most of your petting experience.
